Low Back Pain

Low back pain is a widespread and multifaceted issue that affects millions of people around the world. According to the World Health Organization, low back pain is the leading cause of disability globally, with an estimated 80% of individuals experiencing it at some point in their lives.

This condition is incredibly diverse, presenting in various forms, from acute, sudden-onset pain resulting from injury or strain to chronic, persistent discomfort that can last for weeks, months, or even years. The causes of low back pain are equally diverse, ranging from sedentary lifestyles to underlying medical conditions and structural abnormalities.

At our ChiroCare, we understand that each patient's experience with low back pain is unique, and we offer tailored treatments to address the specific underlying factors contributing to their discomfort, promoting long-term relief and improved quality of life.

Treatment for Low Back Pain

How do Chiropractors help with Low Back Pain

Our treatment for low back pain is designed to target the root causes of your discomfort and provide effective, natural relief. This involves a comprehensive assessment of each patient's condition, considering factors such as posture, lifestyle, and medical history.

Most cases of low back pain are 'mechanical low back pain'. The causes of mechanical low back pain are diverse and can include muscle imbalances, ligament strain, disc herniation, facet joint dysfunction, or degenerative changes in the spine.

Less frequently,  you can experience nerve irritation, compression, or entrapment. Various factors can contribute to this, with conditions like herniated discs or the natural wear and tear of the spine potentially causing pain that radiates down the leg. This is often referred to as sciatica and can be accompanied by sensations such as pins and needles, tingling, numbness, and weakness affecting either the entire leg or specific areas of the leg and foot.

We are able to do a full physical examination, checking all these structures for issues so that diagnosis and treatment plan can be fully explained to you depending  on the results of your examination.
