Some frequently asked questions we get at ChiroCare

Does Chiropractic hurt?

No, when a chiropractic adjustment is carried out by a registered chiropractor it should not hurt. Most people feel instant relief, although It is normal to get some post treatment soreness. Following post treatment advice will minimise this. If you receive adjustments off someone who is not registered it can be harmful and dangerous.

What is the cracking noise?

Popping and cracking noises during a chiropractic treatment are completely normal. There are a number of different theories to why there is a cracking noise. The main theory is that gas is being released from the synovial fluid that is in between our joints. This input into your nervous system can help remove any interference occurring, aiding your body to heal and function better.

I am pregnant, can I have chiropractic care?

Chiropractic care is safe for people who are pregnant, right up to birth. It can actually encourage optimal foetal position and help with a more comfortable pregnancy and delivery for both mother and baby.

Are Chiropractors qualified?

Chiropractic is a resgistered profession and you must be registered with the General Chiropractic Council in order to practice as a chiropractor in the UK. This means you have to have completed the 4 years integrated Masters of Chiropractic degree. All our chiropractors are registered with the GCC and their details can be found on the GCC website.

What ages do you treat?

Chiropractic care can have many benefits for a range of people, all ages. We regularly treat generations of families, from newborns to grandparents! Each treatment is specifically designed with your symptoms, history, examination and best research in mind. Everyone can benefit from chiropractic.

Do I need an X-Ray?

Chiropractors are able to refer if they feel an X-Ray is necessary. After completing a full history and examination, if this is something that your chiropractor feels will benefit you, they will be able to refer and report on an X-Ray.
