Help choosing who to see
We will tell you whether we can help, or who to see instead.

How we work
Whoever you see assesses you first. If we are not the right people to help, we tell you and point you to someone who is, which is often your GP.
Back and neck
Low back pain: everyday back pain and stiffness that is not from an injury or accident, whether it started recently or has been around for months or years. Alongside hands-on treatment, we give you exercises to do at home and advice on how you sit and work.
Neck pain: mechanical neck pain and stiffness that did not follow an injury such as whiplash, assessed and treated with hands-on care and advice you can use at home and at work.
Upper back pain: our guide to the causes, the red flags that need a doctor, and when chiropractic can help.
Headaches
Headaches and migraines: headaches that start from the neck, and care aimed at migraine prevention. If your headaches are new, severe or changing, see your GP first.
Foot and heel
Plantar fasciitis: short-term management of heel and arch pain from plantar fasciitis, with the NHS self-care advice and the signs that mean you should see a GP. Our podiatry clinic can also assess you for insoles.
Podiatry: routine chiropody, diabetic foot care, corns and calluses, ingrown toenails, gait analysis and custom orthotics in our podiatry clinic.
Joints
Osteoarthritis: hip and knee pain from osteoarthritis, treated alongside the exercise plan that NICE puts first. Chiropractic cannot reverse osteoarthritis.
Care for pregnancy, babies and children
Pregnancy care: back pain and general aches in pregnancy, with care adapted to each stage. We see patients in every trimester and after the birth.
Babies and children: light, adapted techniques for babies, children and teenagers, and a clear list of what chiropractic does not treat in babies.
Sports injuries
Sports therapy: hands-on treatment and rehabilitation programmes for sports and activity injuries. Our chiropractors also see minor sports injuries, so if you are not sure which to book, ask us.
Who you will see
All our chiropractors are registered with the General Chiropractic Council, including Dr Ammani Husna, Doctor of Chiropractic (not a medical doctor). Fiona Metcalfe, podiatrist at ChiroCare, is HCPC-registered. You do not need a GP referral to see a chiropractor or to book with our podiatry clinic.
Frequently asked questions
What conditions do chiropractors treat?
At ChiroCare, our chiropractors see people for back pain that is not from an injury or accident, mechanical neck pain, headaches that start from the neck, migraine prevention, joint pains including hip and knee pain from osteoarthritis alongside exercise, minor sports injuries, shoulder complaints other than frozen shoulder, and the short-term management of plantar fasciitis. If your problem is not on that list, call 01706 391922 for a free phone consultation and we will tell you whether we can help.
Do I need a GP referral to book?
No. You can book directly online or by phone on 01706 391922. A new patient chiropractic appointment is £65, a first podiatry appointment is £45, and the phone consultation is free. If we find anything that needs medical attention, we will tell you and refer you to your GP, and with your permission we can share our findings with them.
Should I see a chiropractor, a podiatrist or a sports therapist?
For everyday back pain, mechanical neck pain, joint pain and headaches that start from the neck, start with a chiropractor. For routine foot care, skin and nail problems, gait analysis or custom insoles, see our podiatry clinic. For sports injuries and exercise-based rehabilitation, our sports therapy service is another option. If you are unsure, call 01706 391922 and we will help you choose.
